If you head over to Sendlane.com, you’ll quickly see that the company has a lot going for it. Here are two of its standout features:
As a digital entrepreneur, you wear a lot of hats. Whether it’s writing copy or launching another project, there’s always another task you could be working on.
If you’re planning and executing an email campaign, you don’t want to spend too much time troubleshooting.
Sendlane’s drag-and-drop interface means that you don’t have to use it while keeping the user manual open in another tab. You’re in. You’re out. You’re done.

Sendlane has a lot of analytics features that make it easy to evaluate campaigns. But one of its strengths is that it allows users to quickly and easily move subscribers into new sequences depending on how they respond to your offer. If they open an email but don’t click or they add an item to cart but don’t buy, it’s very, very easy to follow up.
For all the positives Sendlane brings to the table, there are some drawbacks as well. Here are two of the cons I noticed:
It can take time to build a profitable email list. Many aspiring digital entrepreneurs like to use free tools as they grow and then pay more once their businesses have grown.
Sendlane’s pricing starts its users off on a $79/month plan if you go by the cheaper annual plan. For many digital entrepreneurs, that can be quite steep.
Whenever you make a sweeping change that involves changing hosts or email automation providers, it can be tough to make a seamless transition in the best of times.
If you’re migrating with Sendlane, you’re going to be either doing it yourself or using the VIP service if your list is big enough. And if you’re not particularly tech-savvy, this could result in some growing pains.
A big part of creating a successful email marketing campaign is simply being responsive to the needs of your subscribers. This applies whether you’re sending newsletter content or you’re moving subscribers over to the double opens part of your sequence.
Sendlane’s drag-and-drop interface is intuitive and it does allow you to respond quickly to what you see subscribers doing. That being said, the expensive monthly costs and the DIY list migration may be enough to make some entrepreneurs pass on it.
